Savvy Soul Sistahs Line Dance Crew was created to bring together ladies who love to line dance.
Simple as that.
Our purpose is to create a sisterhood where women can share their passion for line dancing while building friendships, staying active, performing, traveling, participating in community events and introducing others to the joy of dance.
Savvy Soul Sistahs is a DFW-based Urban Soul Line Dance Crew, with our primary musical style rooted in R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop and other music that keeps us moving.
We don't just want to dance for ourselves. We want to take our love of line dancing into the community and show others that movement can be fun, social and good for the mind, body and soul.
Our Mission
Our mission is to build a positive sisterhood through line dancing while promoting movement, connection, confidence, community involvement and fun.
Through classes, rehearsals, performances, events and community engagement, Savvy Soul Sistahs Line Dance Crew provides opportunities for women to stay active, build meaningful relationships and share their love of line dancing with others.

WHAT KIND OF LINE DANCING DO WE DO?
Urban Soul Line Dancing
Urban Soul Line Dancing is rooted heavily in music and movement found within Black social dance communities. You'll often find dancers moving to R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, Neo-Soul and contemporary music.
Styles can range from beginner-friendly dances to intricate choreography with turns, syncopation and musical interpretation.
This is where Savvy Soul Sistahs Line Dance Crew primarily lives.
Southern Soul Line Dancing
Southern Soul Line Dancing is closely connected to the Southern Soul music scene and its blend of blues, soul, R&B and regional Southern sounds.
You'll often hear music from Southern Soul artists paired with dances that have developed strong followings at line dance events, festivals and social gatherings throughout the South.
Savvy Soul Sistahs incorporates Southern Soul dances as part of our repertoire as well.
Country Line Dancing
Country line dancing is probably the style most people immediately picture when they hear the words "line dance."
It is commonly danced to country music and has a large international community, with structured choreography and terminology used to teach dances across different locations.
While there can be crossover in dances and techniques, Savvy Soul Sistahs is not primarily a country line dance crew.

The categories may have their own histories, music, communities and traditions, but they share something important:
People coming together through music and movement.
There are thousands of line dances in circulation, and new choreography continues to be created to both new releases and songs we've loved for years.
